WW II A-2 USAAF Leather Flight Pilot Jacket Painted Patch Pyote Bomber Base HC

This is an absolutely beautiful, authentic, brown leather, World War 2 (WW II), US Army Air Forces (USAAF), Leather, Flight/Pilot Jacket. The jacket displays a painted leather patch that depicts ‘Pyote’ Air Field. This base was nicknamed ‘Rattlesnake Bomber Base’ due to the Rattlesnake dens disturbed during construction of the post. This base trained USAAF B17 crews for service during WW II. The jacket also shows evidence of name tag removal. The jacket liner, cuffs, and waistband appear to be period replacements. The jacket is still surprisingly pliant in spite of its age. The original Crown zipper is missing the pull. During the period replacement of the liner the original size/identification tag was apparently removed. Please view the measurements in the photos; however, based on our other WW II jackets, this appears to be between a size ’38’ and ’42’. No further measurements available.
