In spite of the damage shown on the jacket, THIS is a true piece of American History. This A2, Leather, Pilot/Flight jacket displays a painted back, squadron patch, and size ’40’. The back of the jacket presents the Officer’s service in the European Theater as it shows the soldier was on at least 30 bombing missions as well as displays the name of ‘Marcia’ (and a female painting holding a bomb), which we can only assume is a loved one, as no aircraft was found with that name, nickname, or identical graphic. The front of the jacket displays the painted 5″ patch of the 713th Bomber Squadron flying out of England during WW II. In addition the front right side displays the name ‘Dizzy’ as well as ‘ETO 1944’. ‘ETO’ was commonly used for ‘European Theatre of Operations’. The original Talon zipper is still working.
